VERY short lifting sessions

Between the holidays and working tons of overtime hours, I basically didn't walk into a gym at all in December. This month I wanted back in, but my work schedule still won't allow me to do multiple 60- to 90-minute sessions per week as I used to. (Well, I COULD, but between 12-hr shifts and commute time I only have one hour per day with the kids before we all go to bed, and I'm placing them higher priority.)

Anyway, I've determined by waking up earlier I can hit the gym before work. The rub is the gym opens at 5am, and I need to leave by 5:30 to get to work on time, so taking out 10 minutes to shower and dress leaves me time for a 20-minute workout. Plenty of time for cardio, but I prefer weights, so I'm limited to only hitting a single compound lift per day for a brief warm-up and just a few working sets.

I didn't think this would be enough to get any results, but I did heavy deadlifts Monday and bench presses yesterday, and I'm actually feeling a small amount of DOMS. Nothing outrageous or limiting, but I honestly didn't expect to feel anything at all, so I'm encouraged. Today was T-bar rows, tomorrow squats, Friday will be military presses.

I reckon a little something is better than nothing, even if it won't get me the results I used to get from longer sessions.

Can you do a partial warmup, jogging or jumping jacks, or whatever, before you get to the gym? Sounds like even 5 minutes extra would be a big help.
