After workout

I do the insanity workouts at home. If your not familiar with insanity it's a home workout DVD but part of it has the cool down incorporated into it. My question is what is best to keep my fat burning rate up? Usually I just lay on the floor and pray the pain I feel is imaginary. I usually workout 1st thing in the morning or very very late at night after the kiddos are in bed.
