    Deli meat is not what the poster meant by "naturally gluten free food". I'm sure it was a reference to foods like spinach or something having a GF sticker on it.

    In all seriousness, there really is only a small amount of people who have medical conditions that require a gluten free diet. My wife is one of those and she has POTS. But if you don't have a medical condition, it's probably not required.

    I eat a Paleo diet. I don't eat gluten, but I also don't eat grains. I eat real food. However, I do this for health reasons.. I have an autoimmune vasculitis issue that I'm trying to control through diet.. Gluten and certain foods can trigger inflammation in some people.

    My body feels so much better when I stick to Paleo, and I like that I just eat within my allowed foods and don't have to worry about calories.

    Hmm, so anything outside of a Paleo and grain-free diet isn't "real food"?

    Also, eating Paleo doesn't magically mean you don't have to worry about calories. lol.

    absolutely. I was at pizza hut the other day with a guy who has celiac. They have a certified gluten free pizza now but the only toppings they can guarantee are gluten free are pepperoni and cheese. All other toppings have likely been exposed to gluten somehow. In this case, all veggies are naturally gluten free but these have been exposed to regular crusts and gloves worn on hands that have touched gluten. Therefore, they cannot be considered gluten free for someone with a severe reaction to gluten.
