Has anyone tried this Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore recipe from the Skinny Me Recipes website?

http://www.skinnymerecipes.com/2015/12/17/slow-cooker-chicken-cacciatore/

It calls for one tablespoon of salt - that seems like an awful lot, and I'm not happy putting that in. I'm not a good cook, though, so I don't know if that amount is actually necessary for some reason, or if it might be an error and only a teaspoon is required.

Any advice?

Thanks!

The tablespoon is probably a misprint. I would use 1 teaspoon of salt, which would give you 392mg sodium per serving from the added salt since the recipe serves 6, which is about right. You can always add more salt to taste after it is cooked if needed.

Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it! A teaspoon does sound much more reasonable. :)

I wanted to try this recipe at the weekend but don't want to screw it up and produce something inedible by over-salting it, since I don't add very much salt to my meals anyway.

I agree that it is probably supposed to be 1 teaspoon.

I usually season with a large three finger pinch of kosher salt which equals somewhere between a 1/2 tsp and 3/4 tsp. Then I taste again after cooking and adjust if necessary.
