Just back from a week long vacation with relatives who provided meals, took us out to restaurants etc. My goodness. There was scarcely a fruit or vegetable in sight. Everything they had/offered was processed meats, fattening dips, hambugers, hot dogs and greasy brats. They just eat horrible. We were guests in their home but after a few days I finally went and bought some apples, grapes, carrots, etc.

Then they'd suggest going out to eat and despite my efforts of suggesting a 'full' restaurant that had some healthy option, they would choose places that were more of the same.....Culvers......never heard of it, but it was basically a fast food place. I tried my best to choose healther options, there I got a grilled chicken sandwich to share with my daughter and a salad.

I tried my best to eat smaller portions but felt so lousy all week. I am scared to even get on the scale this morning. In fact, I am thinking of just getting back onto my eating pattern for a couple days and THEN getting on the scale!

Hello. I feel your pain about vacation. I recently went on vacation to a spot that had nothing but fast foods around. Tourist areas are just not really made for healthy eating, because they have some of the best foods. I also paired lousy food with quite a bit of alcohol on my vacation, which I knew better than to do. When I got back I was sooo scared to weigh myself. I have to encourage you to get on it though. Don't be afraid because you may actually be surprised. When I got on the scale I noticed I had not gained any weight. I also did a lot of walking on my vacation too which def made up for some of the calories. Either way, if there is weight gained or not, you know that you have to get back into the swing of things, so don't worry too much about the scale.

    family/relatives gotta love em

hopefully the rest of your visit was ok except for the food obstacle course. so just view it as a break from routine you endured as best you could and get back on track now that you can better control your environment. my last week at work before my summer vacation i had to endure well-meaning luncheons and coworkers who live to eat. sigh
it was great to get home! lol don't even mind it's a "staycation"
