It's not really that important whether your protein comes all at once or spread out over several meals--or days, for that matter. You're not going to develop a protein deficiency quickly. You're unlikely to develop one at all, unless you get caught in a famine in Somalia. Frankly, even in the terrible famines we read about every decade or so, the problem almost always is sheer lack of calories, not a protein deficiency. People on the Pritikin diet do just fine with unbelievably low protein percentages, like 10-15%. Your body is surprisingly flexible: the one thing it won't do is lose weight if you take in too many calories.0
