Hi all, I can't seem to find the calories in the above, it seems to always contain meat or they do a veggie curry but with rice, I am going to skip the rice.
anyone know of approx calories please? I am based in UK
thanks

Hey I love a good curry from a take away, not since I have started logging though as that's going to be my Feb treat. Basically i'd work it out manually and then add about 3 ( I apologise in advance for the caps)TABLESPOONS not dessert spoon of oil because you know they use a lot. Usually they will have potatoes, various veg that I don't see going over 200 cals but then there is the "Gravy" they use which maybe around 150 cals then add the oil. I hope that helps xx0

You'll never really know.
I log 1000 for a chicken tikka starter, a non-cream based curry, and rice.
For me I'd be logging 500-ish for a vegetable madras from a takeaway. Probably a bit high but gives you some leeway.
Maybe have a look at some supermarket ready meals of a similar description, upping the calories a bit as the takeaway one will be cooked with ghee and will probably be bigger.
The only way to find out if that's anywhere near accurate is to do it regularly, monitor weight, and adjust as necessary.

As a rough guide for takeaways, I look up what it would be as a ready meal and double it.0

There's no way to know for sure what is in the takeaway food, and how many calories in it. Each takeaway & restaurant will be different. Some places use loads of sugar, I've seen it, & you would never realize it. I make my own; Aldi (UK) have great range of curry sauces with the nutrition info on the label; you can pick up chicken, plenty of veg there, cook it yourself in 20 minutes, know exactly what's in your meal, & use MFP recipe builder to sort out the calories. Much nicer than a takeaway (& cheaper too!).0

The vegetable jalfrezi I get is 320g a serving according to our indian take away if that helps.0
