...To make sure you get your daily steps in. I'm obsessed with making sure I feel the vibration of my Fitbit go off once I hit my goal of at least 10K steps per day. At times it will be late at night and I'm short by 2K so I will either march in place or walk around the house until I reach the goal. Anyone else does things like this to do what it takes to get their steps in?

I march or pace the room while watching TV all the time. Weird? Maybe. But beats being a couch potato, and I still get to watch my shows and stay active.

Yep, I do laps around the house.
  • Yup, I do that. I walk or do aerobics or dance daily. One decent session is generally good for 4-5k steps. Depending on how my steps look, I may go for a second session. I'll add steps to things like vacuuming and dusting, too. I'll jog around with the vacuum, lol. Nothing wrong with watching something/listening to something while walking indoors to finish up your step goal!

    Yeps all of the above

plus i stopped putting my dishes in the dishwasher i wash and dry up and while drying i step from left to right and put everything away one by one. Done in 10 minutes but good for 1000 steps easily

Walking up and down when i am on the phone.

Serving the table same thing etc. One by one. I was a former chef i can walk with many plates lol but i dont.

All of this only when i have time. So it would be silly when i dont have the time to do this. There are days i put everything in the dishwasher but when i have time...nope why should i?
    Folding clothes same thing.

I move much more than i did before and this is next to my jog/walk for 60 minutes daily on my treadmill and my twice a week teaching BWB Body-Robics™ classes.

So yes i make sure i hit 10.000 a day but most of the time it is closer to 20.000 ;)

I have two cats and I run around the house playing 'chase' with them. Sometimes, I'm like "Chase time!" and get up and run around the house with their feather-toy, and they'll just sit on the couch and watch me, like "Wow, Mom's an idiot...."

Yep, I do laps around the house.

Me too  I get 20,000+ steps a day without leaving home.
I also walk when I'm on the phone, walk around while I'm waiting for the kettle or microwave. I pace when I'm folding washing, take one item out of the dryer at a time, and the rest are doing laps outside around the house.
