Heres our new chart! What a week! I think the stress officially got to me and I gave up over the weekend, not even being able to do housework. Today I am going to clean house and go swimming. I am counting that as my workout.
Any motivational tips today? I need some motivation to go please!

Debnu- I have fallen down too, I just think to myself to pick myself from where I left off and keep going. I might not see it, but I am better off than what I was a year ago.0
-
Randi and Maneyes- Congrats on your weight loss this week! All of your hard work is paying off.
msh- Wish you a good trip at church camp. Wish I was there , but I know you will have fun for me.
smadag- Wish a good trip while on the road with your dad. I know, it's so hard to be good when everyone around us is eating badly. Maybe try to make a healthy version of what he is having for yourself, so you don't feel left out.
Peter- this has been a slow week for me as well, in terms of exercise, but next week it will be better, and I know today I am at a better place than what I was a year ago.0 -
Congrats on the weight loss team. I'm in the same place as you are right now debnu. I'm attempting to get back some motivation but I seem to have a lack of energy the last couple of days.0
-
hey all.
What can I say to help. We call get un motivated every now and then. Our old habits come back, we get busy, tired, sometimes lazy. we also get comfortable in where we are, which is not a bad thing.
Mayra your dam right, compared to where I was a year ago, I'm so glad, we've all come along way in the last year. Nobody forget that.
I had a rough week last week, but got back on it this week and 3rd day in a row. The bug is coming back. Shoulders and arms today for 690 calorie burn.
We know we can do it. It's all the mental game. Get focused, tell yourself your worth it and you can do this.
Make that appointment everyday to workout. Try it. You won't miss your doctor or dentist appointment.
Have a great day everyone.0 -
Great speech Peter!! Just what I needed!! :drinker: Thanks!0
-
Hey Ladies and Peter! Hope everyone is well. I have a nasty allergy case right now so I am heading home from work and crashing- hoping to feel better in the morning!!0
-
Deb, Mayra, Maneyes - You can all do this. Once you get motivated again the bug comes and takes over.
Think of how much better you feel. Think of your goals, long term and short term.
I challenge you three. Make an appointment every day. Maybe it's 30 mins, if you can set a time of an hour that's better.
This is YOUR time. no kids, no disturbances. Put on your exercise clothes, HRM, shoes.
Sometimes I know we think, I still don't want to do it.
If it's been a while since exercise, get back in to it slowly, go for a walk instead of the DVD.
Are you three up for it?
Randi - Hope your feeling better.:flowerforyou:
Sandy - Thanks. Anything I can do to help..Nice to see you.
Well, last night my legs were a bit sore from my Plyo workout the day before. I thought I"d loosen them up by going for a walk after work.(12am ) I did my 4km loop, but after 10 mins of walking, I didn't want to walk anymore, so started jogging a bit, walked and then jogged 4kms in 40 mins for 463 calorie burn.
Skipping YogaX today because I don't have the time, and I have a massage booked for myself. :blushing: I've had some tightness, weakness in left shoulder, shoulderblade area, and feel a few knots. Also hope to take care of this lagging lower back pain I still feel. (more knots).
Make good choices everyone. Have a great day!0 -
Peter enjoy your massage! Tonight I am making an appointment for myself--in bed before 10 p.m. I have been staying up too late and it has been really messing up my mornings! I will then jump up out of bed in the morning and go exercise! I can do this. I just need my sleep! I know that has really messed up my exercise motivation lately.
Have a wonderful day everyone! I am off to take DD to swimming lessons...0 -
Peter - I have no problem getting between an hour and two on Mondays and Thursdays due to my ultimate frizbee games. As for the other days, that's where I seem to lack. This past week, I've just been drained of energy. I could have probably fallen asleep at like 7 the last two days and I don't know the reasonings why. I'm hoping that this cycle of no energy is almost over and I can take you up on that challenge.0
-
Feeling quite a bit better today, still not 100% but getting closer!! Planning a nice 4 wheeler ride with hubby tonight, I hope the fresh air does some good. Ususally when we ride we hop off the 4 wheelers and take a short hike so I'm not planning any workouts tonight.
Girls, you can do this, try not to push the exercise and workouts to far away, they are some much harder to get back. You can do this ladies, and you know you can!0 -
maneyes--are you getting enough vitamin d? My husband started getting really sleepy and body aches over the winter and we found out his was extremely low. If you are wearing sunscreen daily you should be taking a supplement--and sometimes even if you are not. My level was borderline low when I had it checked and I had been getting out in the sun, enough I thought... You might want to get your levels checked if the fatigue continues. The three things that really effect sleep and energy are your thyroid, vitamin D and B12.
onmyweigh, I hope you enjoyed your ride. :flowerforyou:
I mostly kept my appointment with myself last night. I was in bed right around 10--tonight I am going to try for earlier.
Off to exercise!0 -
Happy Friday everyone! I challenge everyone to stay on track over the weekend. My plan is to plan out my days in the morning and stick to them.
Have a beautiful weekend everyone!0 -
I can't wait til I have internet again so I can check in!!
I'm still jobless here in Texas and really starting to stress. It's not helping me keep on my healthy habits. I'm living off of ramen noodles and peanut butter sandwiches...and have been for a couple months now. Ugh. That's all I can afford.
I did go for a run yesterday and plan on picking that up again. Gives me something to do to keep my mind off everything that's going on. I just need to breathe and try to be positive.0 -
I had a great workout today! Our regular step aerobics instructor wasn't there, so we had a fill in. We did more of a high impact toning routine. Lots of deadlifts, lunges, chest presses, etc.!! The routine hit every body part with no break in between! I'll be feeling this tomorrow, I am sure!!
So great to see you again Rach!! Hang in there! I hope that things get better! :flowerforyou:
Randi, I am loving that challenge! Staying on track the entire weekend sounds great!! I have a picnic to attend on Sunday, but hopefully I can make good choices & fill up on water & fruit!
Peter, :drinker: sounds like a great run/walk!! Keep up the great work & thanks for being here!
Have a great weekend!!

I just cleaned and ran errands this whole week. Today so far I spent 2 hours ironing clothes and will be doing more cleaning. Feeling pretty wiped! Take care all!0
-
Hope all of you are having a great weekend! I wanted to sleep in this morning but my son got me up early--time to exercise! We can do this, just one step at a time! My goal as of today is to not buy any sweets. When I buy them I eat them. I can do it. I am strong enough! Lets keep on keeping on!0

I've let myself go this week, with the excitement of the new job, and ate tons of food. My ticker has moved the other way, but I'm grabbing a hold of myself and am back on this. I'm sure I will lose these pounds quickly like last time. It has been so humid today I just got home from church and showered and drank so much liquid.
Take care all, and here is to be re-committing myself to my goal.0 -
I am back to logging today, after taking four days off. I am definitely ready to get back to real food, instead of church camp kid's food! Things went well overall, but I am quite tired. Talk to you more later!0
-
Hi all, I sort of lost track with the eating on the weekend but I'm back to watching what I eat this week. My weigh in for this week is the same as last. Been slowly working up the exercise and my goal for this week is to try and get some in everyday.0
-
Hope you all had a great weekend! It was a busy and yet good one for me. I had my second swimming lesson and I do feel that I am progressing. Now to just feel comfortable in the water. We are getting ready to put cement in our backyard and it is a muddy mess. I did the treadmill for 20 min this morning. I am thinking I am going to repeat phase three of p90x--I have taken a few too many days off...:noway:
Don't forget to send me your weights!!0 -
Okay, I am getting started on the busy day that I have planned. I have already gone to the park to watch my grandson play Tball, and been to the grocery store. I'm getting ready to make some soup. I saw where someone posted a link to this recipe for weight watchers soup, and I am going to try it as a snack: http://www.weightwatchers.com/food/rcp/index.aspx?recipeid=99961 It has very few calories.
I seem to feel like sharing recipes today, so here goes: This is the oatmeal mix that I eat most mornings for breakfast:
http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/Spiced-Oatmeal-Mix I add more cinnamon and nutmeg than they do.
For lunch, I will have leftovers from last night's Italian Vegetable Soup. It was pretty tasty:
http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/Italian-Vegetable-Soup-5 I used spinach instead of escarole, and added garlic.
Dinner tonight? Trying a new tuna recipe: (You have to be a member to get the link, so I'm just including a recipe)
Taste of Home Creamy Tuna Noodle Casserole:
5 cups uncooked egg noodles
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) reduced-fat reduced-sodium condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 cup (8 ounces) fat-free sour cream
2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup 2% milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cans (5 ounces each) light water-packed tuna, drained and flaked
1 cup frozen peas, thawed
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
TOPPING:
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1 tablespoon butter, melted
Directions
Cook noodles according to package directions.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the soup, sour cream, cheese, milk and salt. Stir in the tuna, peas, onion and pepper. Drain noodles; add to soup mixture.
Transfer to an 11-in. x 7-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle over top. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly. Yield: 6 servings.

My news for the day: I got my son in law to sign up for MFP, and he started last Monday. Today, he had lost 7 pounds! So, he is now convinced that it will work!
Hope everyone has a great day, and here's to smart choices!0 -
Weigh in for Monday 6/28/10- 196.1! Lost over the weekend again! My plan, of logging everything first thing in the morning then sticking to it, worked! May be much harder next weekend....4th of July BBQ at the house... friends, food, drinks.... very scary. Maybe if I make a veggie tray first thing in the morning I will nibble at it and be full by the time everyone shows up and I won't be as tempted by the junk food.
Speaking of summer time foods... something I figured out last summer and it works pretty good. We have a fire circle in our backyard so we do alot of hotdog roasting and marshmallow roasting. When the family is doing hotdogs I put a thawed chicken breast tender on my stick, turns out pretty darn good! I can join in the fun without the calories!0 -
HI all,
Yesterday I walked alot at the Park Zoo. Today I am back in my game and feel really great. I've been feeling really tired and thought it was due to low iron, but maybe it could be that I need exercise since Dr. Oz says exercise supplies the body with oxygen. It has been so humid...and I've been feeling so yucky and sticky. Today I did P90X Chest and Back, Ab ripper X, and then after it rained ran outside with baby in jogging stroller for 40 minutes straight and I felt wonderful. I thought I wouldn't be able to do that after a 2 week of very low key exercise, but I guess the body remembers. Now, I'm back in this.
By the way I start my job next tuesday, and this week I'm working on going to sleep at a set time so I can workout in the morning.
And, I'm re-starting week 9 of P90x, since that's where I last left off...
Great job everyone with your workouts, you are all amazing!0 -
Mayra, I have found that I am more tired when I don't exercise too. It really does make a difference! I just get so much more done after exercising.
Mary your recipes look great! Thanks for sharing!
Randi I love your ideas for party survival...I will have to do some of those too.
See you tomorrow!0 -
I jumped back into my exercise routine today, after church camp. (Not that I didn't get a lot of exercise there with the kids!) Anyway, I literally jumped back in - to the pool! I swam for an hour non stop, and it felt good. I am kind of hungry though. I think it is a good night for a bedtime snack.
Love the chicken on a stick idea by the way. I have been trying to avoid hot dogs myself.0 -

Its been a hectic day and one where I am wanting to not care, but I am not going to give up today!
I have been reading a bob greene book with post its in hand to write down all the motivational thoughts--I am plastering our master bathroom mirror with them so I can remember. My memory is short so I need all the help I can get!
My husband is starting to think we need a bigger bathroom mirror!:noway: I like having them there so I can read at least one motivating statement multiple times through the day...
Hope you are all doing well. I am trying to get ready for a family reunion that starts on Friday. I am about to go crazy with everything on my list and the kids underfoot but I can do it!!0 -
msh- great job on the swimming!
Randi- I love cooking outdoors!
debnu-- great idea to have motivational posts its around. I have one near my computer about waiting in God, and how God supplies the need of those who wait.
It was a late workout for me, but I got it done. I did P90X Kenpox, Plyometrics, and 30 minutes of Rodney Yee Power Yoga. I'm getting ready to shower and cook an easy dinner and then watch tv.
Great job everybody on pushing through each day!0 -

Here is the next board...
Mayra talk about exercise--You killed it! You deserved an easy dinner and some TV!!
Mary, someday soon I will be able to swim laps. I have always been a little jealous of those who could swim and then one day it dawned on me that I could learn if I wanted to--so I am.
Lets bring it!0
