Waterlogged - Hydration in exercise

Wasn't sure if to post this here or in the food section as it's more exercise orientated I thought here made sense. It's an interesting article on hydration in exercise based around ultra running but interesting to other sports none the less

This pretty much reflects what was written in "The Runners' Body" in respect to hydration. It's no surprise that much of the so-called hydration "research" has been conducted by the makers of sports drinks.
Personally I opt for a moderate approach, drinking reasonable amounts of water throughout the day based largely on thirst. (I must confess though, that in really hot weather I will make a point of drinking a bit more the day ahead of a long run or ride)0 -
I've read the book. More comments later. I'm heading out for a hot, 10 mile track workout without a water bottle.0
