I have my spartan race super at end of the month. I did a sprint early December and super stoked about this up coming one. Unfortunately I got a mild sprain on my Achilles' tendon any suggestions to help heal it faster? It's been about two weeks now and has gotten a lot better but I haven't run since then and I don't really plan on running a long run till the day of my race. My current level of pain is very mild and doesn't not cause any pain when I walk but want to play it safe till race day. I've been massaging the area with deep tissue massages and stretches and it seems to work. But was wondering if there was any other things I can do to help "speed" up the process. Any suggestions will do! Thanks in advanced.

Did you see a doctor? I would follow their directions. Achilles' can be tricky and go downhill fast. So I definitely wouldn't push it.

There is a good bit of training you can do without affecting that area much. I'd personally be focused on that and see a doctor. I did a very hard Super after two weeks of couch rest due to a back injury. It was scary, and stupid, but I survived.... :-/

After two weeks of resting and not doing long runs including self massage on the area has helped. The pain has gone away and I still have another week until I have my race. I bought compression socks as well and it has seemed to have helped with the healing process. Don't know if it's an placebo effect but either way pain is gone. I have about 8 months until my beast so I train smarter for that race and push myself every week.
