Items in the Database

As a newbie I apologise if this has been addressed already somewhere. I have just found out that many of the items in the database are incorrect, this is even when there are duplicates of the same item. This could either be in the amount of nutritional content themselves; or vitamins and minerals that have not been added when actually present on an item's packaging. At first I thought no problem, I will just edit the content. This is not possible though unless it is an item you have created yourself. Unless I am missing on how to edit this, I can see this bring quite tedious initially. Hopefully in the long run it will be worth it.

You can edit the values on items you haven't created. On the website, if you select an item's nutritional information and click "No" for the question about accuracy, it brings up a prompt to correct it. I have done this for multiple items.

Many thanks for this janejellyroll. I take it that it is just on the website and not on the app? Very useful to know.

I've never tried it on the app -- I am guessing it is website-only.

Just to add, you can only edited public items that are not Verified (i.e. that do not have a green check). If an item is Verified, you have to send the requested corrections to Customer Support via Or Email Us on the MFP Help pages for the database team to make the corrections.
