I've worked out my bmr. It's 1263. I want to lose 10lb. How many calories a day should I eat? ? I'm female , 48, 5ft and 127lbs. I'm active, work full time walk 5 miles a day. I'm using my fitbit charge hr, but not sure if I'm understanding it. I have lost over 30lb in 12 months sticking to 1200 calories a day, but want to push on and lose more. I'm just asking for advice as I know that everyone on here is striving for a healthy lifestyle. Thanks :)

    Enter your stats and goals into MFP and you will receive a calorie goal. Sync your Fitbit Charge HR to your MFP account to understand how many additional calories (the adjustment for your activity) you should eat on top of your calorie goal.

    Basal metabolic rate is the calories your body uses if you're in a vegitative state in bed all day. Your bodies actual calorie usage on a normal day is a bit higher than that. Going below 1200 calories a day can be dangerous... You will get nutritional deficiencies and put your health at risk. At 127 pounds... You're already at a healthy weight. I'd say start toning up... Lift some weights. Do squats... Lunges... Jumps.... Don't try to change your weight... Change your composition.
