    Nope.

If you drink sodas, juice, or other beverages with calories, switching those for green tea can help reduce how many calories you're consuming. But that's it!

Nope. Drinking plain water or tea helps me feel fuller between meals without adding calories, but it doesn't boost my metabolism or any of that pseudo-science BS. And I just like green tea.

Nope! Just another money maker for the people who like to capitalise on vulnerability. Green tea does have some good antioxidants and as Lyssa says, can make a good replacement for drinks that have calories but it's no miracle pill.

Like the raspberry ketones you asked about in the other thread green tea will not take off weight without you being in a calorie deficit. There is some research to say that green tea will increase your metabolism and the number is usually around 4% but definitive results, no I am pretty sure is doesn't exist.

If you enjoy green tea then by all means incorporate it into your diet, most have a lovely flavour.

Have a good read of the forums and the introduction threads, they will help you sort out myth from fact and help you not part with your hard earned money on weight loss scams.

Plug your stats into MFP, pick a sensible deficit, weigh and log everything you eat, eat foods you enjoy (ie: don't feel you have start eating in a totally different style than before) and get some exercise that you enjoy if you so please. You will soon learn about the calorie amounts in the foods and drinks you are consuming and then you will be able to make a more informed decision about which foods to keep eating or which you may decide to limit or omit.

    Good luck.
