this website takes forever to load... even on my work computer where I have a brand new machine... I understand they provide this service free due to the ads which can take forever to load... anyways, when I do cardio, it's very quick to give me credit for extra calories... when I started to log my weight lifting routine it didn't do anything... and I was including a very strenuous workout of bench press and squats... anyone else run into this? am I doing something wrong? I at least want credit so I can "earn" my post workout protein shake...

I've been tracking here for a couple of weeks and have already lost 6 lbs which I'm very happy about... I have 20 lbs left to lose..

Log it under cardio. Look for strength training. The strength training section you logged in is for tracking your progress. You don't burn much during strength training and the number mfp gives you will probably be super inflated, but logging under cardio will get you what you're wanting.

    And download an ad blocker...

Lifting weights burns between 200-300 calories per hour depending on intensity. However, your metabolism speeds up almost 50% for hours after. Hard to calculate the true caloric benefit.

Create your own exercise in the cardio section for your weight lifting.

I think there are too many variables for mfp to give an accurate calorie burn for lifting weights.

Also I have no issues with the site. Is it just mfp or all websites?
