Weight loss vs fat loss

Can someone explain to me the difference between fat loss and weight loss. I've looked all over and cannot find a defined definition. I thought with weight loss you lose fat, but I've lost 12 lbs and my measurements seem to be the same. Yet pants that were snug before now fit.

Fat loss is just fat loss.
Weight loss includes fat, muscle loss if you have any, water from sweating, using the bathroom, etc.
You'll weigh more after a big meal because your weight now includes the meal you just ate.
The best time to weigh yourself every day is the morning after the bathroom and before you eat or drink so that you reduce variables like how much water and food you've consumed.0
