Help! I am a very active female in her 20's trying to drop a little more weight. I'm torn when it comes to eating carbs...

Should I eat...
All? Some? Wheat? None?

Thoughts?

Unless you have a medical reason to cut out some of these, it largely comes down to personal preference. Some people find it easier to stay in a calorie deficit while cutting carbs. Others want to gnaw their own arms off eating that way. Play around and see what works best for you.

You don't need to, you just need to eat less than you are burning off. Personal choice really as long as you know it isn't a prerequisite.

Eat all the carbs if it works for your body! I know eating carbs makes me feel really good.

Most days keep carbs below 100/day, but on a heavy weightlifting day, you can take in a few extra carbs right after your workout to help replenish Glycogen stores. :)

It's all about the calories. Any diet works, as long as you do a calorie deficit.
I am high carb. Plain oatmeal, barley, lentils, beans, sweet potatoes, quinoa, wheat pasta, brown rice, etc. You just have to find what works for you. Protein and fiber tend to keep me full.

Other than a bit more water loss at the beginning of a low-carb diet, you won't lose any more weight on a low-carb diet than you will on any other diet of equivalent calories. Eat however is most satisfying to you and allows you to adhere to your diet and maintain your sanity.

If you're trying to build a nutrient dense diet, choose vegetables, or less refined grains. If you are trying to figure out satiety: experiment. For me, the ones with the most fiber and least added sugar (and are least refined) work best for my goals.

I eat all carbs, but prefer whole grain products.
Unless you feel bloated or nausea after eating carbs there is no reason for you not to eat them.
Some people function better on high carb, some better on high protein, some both equally.
Try out all and see what works best for you!
