Is it norml to still feel huge?

Over the last couple of years i've lost 55lbs, going from a UK size 18/20 to a 10/12 (still another 14-20 lbs to lose) Yet i still feel huge. When i look in the mirror i still see the same person looking back at me. I still feel like the 'fat friend' and the self conious unfit person in gym classes. It's frustrated my partner as when he comes shopping with me i still instinctively pick up bigger sizes and have to keep sending him to find smaller, and on date nights or nights out with the girls i still tend to wear outfits that hide my figure. I've given so many clothes to charity, as they got way too big, and i get compliments from people who've seen me in a while...and yet, i just dont seem to be able to accept that i'm smaller now. Why can's i see myself the way i really am nw, is this normal?

Yes it is quite normal to have a little body dismorphia after losing weight.
If you haven't, talk this through with your boyfriend so he understands. If he knows and understands the problem he may be able to give you better feedback on what looks good on the new you.
Have full length photos taken of yourself, with friends, family, and alone, not posed.
Quite often we can see the changes better in a pic than we can in the mirror.
Compare the pics with pre loss ones and you will see the difference.
Seeing yourself out of context in a shop window also helps.
(ETA:I scared myself a couple of times the first time I saw my new self reflected in a shop window- I didn't initially realise it was me. I was on cloud 9 the rear of that day.)

I went from 340 to 180 last year. I've been very heavy my entire life. I feel massive and still see myself as fat when I look in the mirror, even though people say I am skinny. I got called a bean pole by an elderly lady at the grocery. It wasn't mean, just comparing me to her husband. I still turn sideways to navigate through places, I still feel like I can't fit in a booth at a restaurant. My stomach used to spill over the top of the table in a booth, now I literally have 10-12 inches of room. My mind still thinks I am fat. It will take some time for it to catch up to your body.0

I started out pushing a 5x about two years ago (time flies when you're bettering yourself I guess) and am now down to a 1x. 125lbs gone and there are times when I still feel and perceive myself as that girl weighing over 400lbs. It sucks, but alas. There are good days, too! Awesome work.0
