Needing some ideas

Hi, I seem to run into a problem when I work my 11-8 shifts. I will eat a large breakfast to jump start my day and hopefully hold me thru a late lunch which is usually about 4pm. The problem is, I do not want to be eating after 8pm so that means when I log my meal entries I will not have a dinner entry and I"ve usually exhausted my 1200 calories by then.
My breakfast was about 463 calories today so I have 737 left to go. Is it ok not to log a dinner meal then? I could fill in the gaps with some fruits perhaps?

I'd cut your breakfast to around a 200-300 calorie range and spread the remainder of your calories over 3 meals during the rest of your day. Maybe have 6oz of greek yogurt with fresh berries in between breakfast and a sensible lunch. That should leave you around 300-400 calories to work with for dinner.

Timing of meals is completely irrelevant to weight loss. So don't sweat it if your eating pattern doesn't fall into a traditional 'breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack" pattern.

As long as you are averaging your daily calorie goal over each 24 hour period, when you eat, or how you bunch your calories up isn't going to make a difference.

For weight loss, it doesn't matter when you eat as long as you are burning more calories than you consume. If you don't want to eat after 8pm, that shouldn't be a problem as long as you are eating sufficiently during the day. If a big breakfast and late lunch work for you along with some snacks to fill in the gaps, there shouldn't be any issues as long as you are satisfied. Good luck!

It's good good to get some feedback from all of you, I really do appreciate it. I decided to pack a lunch for today and will fill in the gaps with some fruit and celery sticks. A tuna pita sandwich with a banana and some shredded lettuce for lunch.

I was just wondering...why 1200 calories? You can still lose weekly if you had more.
