30 Day Shred and Weight Workouts?

So I've been encouraged to shake up my routine rut (been doing the same cardio and weight workouts for a long while) and try the 30DS (joining the group starting Monday, July 1). I tried Level1 yesterday just to make sure it's something I can do and commit to, and I feel it is.

Now the strength portions ... most of it (I've only tried Level 1 so far) wasn't too hard for me. I've been doing similar movements with heavier weights ... maybe not quite as many reps as here (my shoulders had a hard time with the lift/lunge even with just 3 lb weights, even though I had been doing a similar move with 8lb weights in my personal routine).

I've always heard "rest between weight workouts" ... that muscles need time to repair. I would do this (often out of necessity, as I was sore for a day or two), doing a full body workout 1-3 times a week. But here, with 30DS you are supposed to do this workout every single day (the support group here is going to take weekends off). Just wondering about that ...

I've read on a couple other threads where people are encouraged to keep up with extra cardio in addition (which I am planning on doing, I enjoy an easy elliptical workout while watching TV, or reading while riding the stationary bike ... I don't want to give those up), just wasn't sure if that would also go for weights as well. I am assuming that I should stop my own weight workouts for the duration, although in some ways I feel like it's a step down from what I usually do. I guess change is good?

Thoughts? What have others who have done the 30DS done?

Anyhow here, with 30ds you should do this workout every last day (the morally supportive network here is set to take weekends off). http://www.yogayug.com/

Everyone does it differently. I did it for 30 days straight the first time through, and did some cardio on the elliptical a few days a week along with it. I've been lifting for the past month or so, and sometimes on off days I do 30DS because it's short and I feel like working out. It doesn't seem to hurt, and I don't feel like I'm over doing it. I don't know, I feel like with a 20 minute workout, it's no big deal if you do it along side your regular weights & cardio. I'm far from an expert, though, just telling you how it worked for me!

Well I am planning on doing it M-F, I do think it will replace my usual weight workouts, although I might try to tack on a few extra weight exercises a couple days a week if I feel up to it. 30DS has been done a ton and apparently works if you put the effort in. You look great I_Will_End_You!
