Calorie target help please

I'm 88kg 5ft 6 and trying to work out the best calorie goal.

I have stated that I'm sedentary but do try to hit 5k steps a day at least (altho sometimes don't)

Would 1400 net be a good place to start?

    I'm also 5'6'' and 1400 would be a great start. You can always adjust if you feel like it's not working, but sounds pretty spot on as a good starting point.

    Have you plugged in your stats in MFP yet? When I plug in to lose 1 pound per week it says something around 1350-1400, but yours will be different based on your stats. Check it out. :)

    1587 is your bmr for your height and age and current weight, add in your activity level of 30% (476.1) = 2063, so to loose a pound a week (minimum) I would set calories to 1563
