No weight loss

I just completed my first week cutting at least 500 cal a day . I added 2 days of exercise and there was no change on the scale. Has this happened to anyone else?

    It's not uncommon. Give your body some time to catch up with your new routine before you start to worry :)

    Not super uncommon for the first week but I know its frustrating nonetheless! Can you open up your diary? We may be able to look and give some input :)

    Did you exercise before? If not it is likely water weight due to your muscles trying to recover. You may also have eatenmore salt or be near TOTM.
    Just stick with it a few more weeks and it will pay off. Normally with a larger than expected loss. 1lb a week is the expected amount in your case. (500 cal deficit)

    I don't know how to show my diary but on looking back I consumed a lot of salt and not a lot of water.

    I've stalled for a week at a time. It really is frustrating, but it does end if you're truly in a calorie deficit.

    Don't know. You haven't let us know where you currently are, and your weight loss objectives. Depending on your intake, 500 calories a day could be a significant part of your intake, or just a blip on the radar. It depends on your type of exercise and intensity. There's a big difference between a casual one-mile walk and 30 minutes of level 15 hills on the elliptical, or an hour of freestyle laps. Are you strength training, do cross fit, yoga, or running?

    Furthermore, are you logging, and doing it honestly?

    I was on a two-year plateau because I was eating all my exercise calories back, and omitting some of my binges. I was challenged by my nutritionist to cut 100 calories a day from my intake, not eat any of my exercise calories back, and to do more cardio. Voila! The pounds started coming off again.
