Can someone provide me with some advice on getting more water? I used to drink A LOT of water. I don't like flavored water. I don't drink pop at all. I just forget to drink water. Like I may have 2-3 eight ounce glasses a day when I used to have 60-80oz a day. Any tips or tricks? I'm holding water like a camel because I'm not drinking enough!!! So, help?

Carry a reusable water bottle with you everywhere! I have my water on my desk at work or at school at all times so that way I see it and drink from it. I also like to drink lots of tea. I have seen people have jugs of water and put lines with times on it so that you have to have drank that amount of water by a certain time, I've never tried it but this may help you.0

Try to drink lukewarm water. You'll drink much more and here are some reasons why!
- Your body is naturally warm, warm water can ease digestion and you'll drink more of it. Cold water can keep you full, but it also slows everything down.
- In Yoga, warm water is almost always a must. Think of your body's natural balance, again your body is warm!
- In Asian cultures, tea is what most drink with a meal. That's because the tea breaks down oils and fats and again, eases digestion.
I always fill my water bottle up at work with warm water. My water bottle is 20 ounces and I fill it up at least 5 times a day.
It works for me, try it out! May not work for you, but I rarely drink cold water anymore.0 -
I have three tips: 1) Go buy a fun water bottle. Camelbacks are fun. 2) Put lemon in your water. 3) Download the WaterLogged App.0

I like water so I drink a bunch of it without thinking but here's what I do:
- chug 2 glasses of water as soon as I get up in the morning (~ 32 oz total)
- keep a 32 oz tumbler of water on my desk at work, drink one in the morning and one in the afternoon (64 oz)
- drink a cup of water at random times throughout the evening
Drink to your thirst, though. Also, keep in mind that you get water through sources other than straight drinking it. Fruits and veggies contain water, for example.0 -
First thing in the morning and every time you have a meal have a glass of water, that's already 4 glasses in the day (assuming you have 3 meals ofc).
Fill a reusable bottle and keep it in front of you all the time, every time you look at the bottle or hear/read the word water take a little sip, having it in front of you will remind you to do it and it'll become automatic.
If you're really struggling then set an alarm on your computer or your phone to go off every hour or so and when the alarm goes off go and get a glass of water.
I had the same problem but getting a 1L reusable water bottle really helped me, I went from 1 glass of water a day to 3L a day just from having it with me all the time and sipping it throughout the day.0 -
Why do you feel that you need to drink more water? If you're not thirsty, you probably don't need to drink water. Any water-based drink (as opposed to alcohol-based) will hydrate you just as well as plain water. Granted, you're getting other things, (which is why it's not good to hydrate with soda since you'll be getting a lot of extra sugar) but in terms of hydrating your body, it doesn't matter what you drink.0

This thread reminded me to get my water out of the fridge...
I actually fill up a gallon jug each day.. goal 1/2 of it. Usually 1/3 along with a.m. coffee and diet dr pepper at dinner. I am not a water sipper so several times a day I down it and then I am done with it.0 -
Thanks everyone!! I'll take these tips into consideration!!0
