ME... IN THE BEGINNING

edited November 2024 in Introduce Yourself
I have been counting calories for a couple weeks now on MFP, but never introduced myself, this was my first blog and what I currently look like.

Did you know that they say if we were to run into ourselves, the exact replica of us, that we would not recognize ourselves? It is said that we perceive ourselves to look completely different than what we actually look like. Now I don' t know weather there is any truth to the rumors, but sometimes when I look at myself in the mirror I wonder if people see what I see.

Before I started this new journey into weight loss I had my son take a couple picture of me, no extra makeup, no fancy clothes that cover the imperfections... just me. I was astonished at the person that I saw in those pictures, IS THIS REALLY ME, because it wasn't the person that I had seen myself as when I looked in the mirror. Now don't get me wrong, I know that I am terribly over weight and that I have a good amount of weight to lose, but I never saw myself as big or gross (if I'm being honest) as I saw myself in those pictures.

I have printed those pictures out and I will now use them as my motivation in this journey that I am on, I know it won't be easy, but I am prepared to take some small steps that will eventually lead into a big success!!!

If you want to be a motivation in my journey/want motivation from me please feel free to send me a friend request.

Currently 300 and 5'6

Well done on getting started. MFP is very good and you will get lots of support and encouragement. Once you see the weight coming off, you'll be encouraged to carry on. Maybe set yourself small goals of 10lbs at a time? I wish you all the best.
