Swimming ?

I'm in a boot for 6 weeks, so no walking or running. I'm cleared for swimming by my doctor. Should I take a rest day between swimming days, or is it safe to swim nearly every day? I'm also lifting weights upper body only.

Do you usually do cardio every day? If so carry on.
If you usually alternate cardio with weight and take a day off do that.
Personally I would do the later, eat at maintenance and eat my calories from exercise back. You need nutrition for good healing.

Check with your PT.
I am guessing that it will be harder than you think and that every-other-day is a good place to start.
I had a really hard time swimming with a broken hand...I basically had to use a kickboard or swim on my back with feet only and arms on my chest. It was VERY slow and a lot more painful than I imagined.0
