New to MyFitnessPal

I/ve never had a weight problem before, but somehow I've gained 20 pounds and my diabetes doctor suggested I track my intake with this app. So far the tracking is going good, finding most foods from the grocery store listed without difficulty. The only problem is foods I or my wife cook ourself. I try breaking them down to individual ingredients but that is time consuming, although once done it is easy to pick from my list, except when I entered it at lunch and then want to add it to dinner. Haven't figured that out yet.
