Ladies with breast implants

I was ''gently advised'' by my surgeon not to work my chest out after having my breasts done 3 months ago. Today I decided to do some very light chest exercises and my right implant feels really tight. Anything to be concerned about? Should I just cut out all chest workouts to play it safe?

Yes you should cut it out. The Dr. gave you this advice for reason. I wasn't even allowed to vacuum (not a bad perk, lol). LISTEN to your DR. No matter if you had it under/above the muscle, it is still healing and very easily damaged. Do you really want to go back and have a do over? NOT!0

always follow dr orders. If the pain is still persistent Monday, consult your surgeon to make sure no damage was done.0

I don't have implants. Probably others that do can reply better. But, since I lift weights and talk on fitness forums for women (I don't mean just mfp), I have heard women talking about these issues before (it comes up a lot). And what I gather is that, you may not be able to take the advice of other women because the experiences vary a lot. Some women say no problem and no difference and they just feel the implants moving around when working out the chest and doing push ups. Other women say they have lost all strength that uses the chest muscles. Other women have had bad experiences and must avoid all chest exercises. You need to do what is right and safest for you. I would suggest doing some serious internet searches, finding good sources, and reading as much as you can, as well as keeping in communication with your doctor.0

Don't do any more chest exercises. After my reduction (not implants I know, but it's still breast surgery) I could barely wash my own hair and even after I got my full range of motion back, even things organizing the cabinets or hanging a big load of laundry left me sore and tight. It was a good 3 months before I could do normal things and about 5 until I could do strenuous exercise. You don't want to have to go back to fix things if you push yourself too hard too soon.0
