First post. Feeling great!

Hi, guys. I've been using MFP for nearly four months, now, but this is my first post. I'll try not to make it a saga! I live in Gisborne, NZ, am married with one grown child (who moved out about a month ago.....and where did she move......why, next door, of course!.....lol). I love animals, gardening, cooking, singing, guitar and movies. Just as an aside, it is extremely hot here today: 33C (91.4), and my fingers are slipping on my keyboard....lol.
So, on the 11th October last year, I got my blood tests back which indicated I was in the mid-to-high range of prediabetic. The next day I changed everything about the way I eat. I know the 'experts' say we should make small changes, but I'm an all-or-nothing kind of girl. So, since then, I've lost 19.9 kilos (43 lbs), all my lipids have improved, liver-function test now shows normal and my blood sugar is, and I shall quote my doctor here because I'm just so tickled, "Well, most people who don't have blood-sugar issues and get an annual blood test come back with a reading of around 36 to 37 (Hb1Ac). You just tested as 31!" And that's only after three months of eating real food! Isn't it incredible the nutritional power in real food and the disease forming power in the food we mess with!
Anyway, I've got about 35 kilos to go, but I'm already feeling excellent. Energy levels have improved a lot, and not one session of IBS since the day I started! The toilet said it's very happy!...lol.
