Hey guys was wondering what people's opinions of carb cycling was. Is it a waste of time or does it have merit.

    Eat in a surplus, hit micros, macros, and get on structured lifting program

    There is only one benefit of carb cycling that I'm aware of and that is if you are on a low carb diet and you do a carb backload only when you glycogen gets very low. I am aware of evidence to support that you can then eat a couple hundred grams or so of carbs and reload the glycogen without gaining fat when you are glycogen depleted, but this would be an extrem manipulation of your diet. Normal carb cycling hasn't shown any real benefits that I'm aware of.

    Calorie cycling makes more sense.

    Ok so 500g above my maintain. What about on rest days.
    I lift 5 days a week for about an hour including 10 min cardio to warm up. Would this be enough.
