today will be the third day in a row where I use the elliptical for an hour... I'm planning on using weights, would you recommend weights before or after cardio for fat loss?

After would be good. You can try and cut your elliptical to just 30 minutes so you can devote the rest to your weight workout. This way you won't get too tired.0

Lol, I tend to start with it, as cardio is my less favoured exercise over weights, so it is easier for me to find excuses not to do it if I had a good weights workout. By doing it first there are no excuses0

If you want a good efficient workout on both I would suggest only focusing on one per day. For example monday/wednesday/friday do elliptical for an hour. Tuesday/thursday/saturday weights (you can warm up on elliptical for 15 minutes or so). The problem when doing both is that your muscles are either too tired after elliptical, or your body is too tired after weights.
If you want to do both at the same time you need at least 2 hours break inbetween. Ideally would be one in the morning, one in the afternoon, but most people don't have time to go to the gym twice a day.
