What is your height and your goal weight? I am 5'1'' and trying to figure out what a good goal weight is. So I thought I would ask around and see what other petite ladies goals are. Thanks in advance!

I'm 5" 2.75 and I am at my goal of 119.0

I'm 5' 1.5" and I've been aiming for my weight late in high school which was 115-120. 115 is supposed to be just about right in the middle of the "healthy" range for my BMI. I've set my goal as 118 since it's close and would make an even 40 lbs lost since joining MFP.0

You need to first figure out your frame size. Try this test:
- Wrap your thumb & forefinger around your wrist. If your fingers touch or overlay, you are small framed. If they barely touch, you are medium framed. If they don't touch at all, you are large framed.
For my height, 108-145 is a healthy weight range but I might not get any lower than maybe 130 because I have a medium frame.
That being said, I'm 5'3 3/4" and 162 lbs. My goal weight is 140 and then maybe a little more.0 -
I'm5'2" and aiming for 130 right now. I read somehwere that for women my height 120-130 is a healthy weight range.0

I say I'm 4-11, but I'm actually a little shorter then that :blushing:
My Doctor said he'd like to see me at 150, I told him 135....he said aim for 150 then readjust my goals from there. I figured if I can make it to 135, I might as well go down to 125 and lose an even 100lbs. He just smiled at me when I said that.0 -
I am 5'3 1/2" and I am at my goal weight range of 105-108. It always varies a little depending on my weight training and muscle mass. I have a small frame (overlapping fingers at wrist) and my measurements are 32-26-32. HTH!0

I am 5'2" and right now my goal is 150 because I have never managed to break out of the 160s even on my best years of dieting. I can't even IMAGINE being less than that at this point. The wrist test tells me I am Medium Framed.0

I am 5'4" and hace a goal weight of 160. I was told by the YMCA trainers that I have more muscle mass..well at least I used to. I always thought I had a larger frame but according to the wrist test, I have a small frame. My poor bones...all that extra weight!!0

Im 4 11 as well. I was 135 when i got married and thought i was still alittle chubby but now looking back i just needed to tone the ab area. My goal right now is 135-150. According to the BMI chart here I need to be at 100 to be healthy which to me seems extremely tiny. I have never been that small. I was 150 in high school, started losing wieght my senior year after I had a breast reduction. Big boobs make it hard to lose weight and the extra weight i had was from them. they took off 4 lbs from each side. Being so short (and i laugh when i think petite cuz im HUGE or i feel tht way) every lb shows. Although I am 175 now i still look really big and starting at 200 was alot.0

I'm just under 5'2 and I'd love to be 120 lb again. I looked pretty good in high school at about 115, then I put on about 7 lb of pure muscle as a competitive fencer. Let's just say I looked pretty alright at that point. :blushing:
Once I hit college, I had stopped working out but was still eating right, and I was just under 120 and very healthy. Then I didn't have the money or time to eat right. Then I gained 12 lbs. Then lost 10. Then gained 15. Then lost 7 or so, and so on and so forth til recently my weight had a steady gain from 130 to 142 without slowing down. I got a bit worried. I joined MFP when I weighed just over 140 and reaaaaly wanted to get off this slippery slope while SOME of my pants still fit (miraculously, after nearly 20 lb of weight gain). First, I stopped gaining (YAY) and then I lost 6 lbs! It's been about a month, and I'm very pleased so far.
I think for a height of 5'1.5", 120 or 125 on a medium, somewhat curvaceous frame would be perrrrrfect for me. My boyfriend is terrified I'll lose my boobs, haha. I'm having trouble staying in my D cups right now, so I don't think that'll be a problem. TMI?0 -
I'm 5'3.5 and my fingers don't touch around my wrist. Aiming for 140 give or take a few. I remember at 140 I still had fat arms and a little pooch so I'll probably try to go lower after that.0

Hi, I'm 5'1 and I'm aiming for somewhere between 115 to 120lbs. However, I'm going to see how I feel as I go along. I need to get into the healthy BMI range first which would be 130lbs. Then, I will reassess my goals. On a side note, however, my goal is where I was late teens/early twenties...so this is BEFORE I had kids. I'm not sure that my body can get back to that, but I'm going to work hard to find out!0

I am 5'2" and large boned. At my thinnest in high school I was a healthy 125-130. I'd love to be between 130-140. But that goal is so far away right now I don't know that I can ever be that weight again!!0
-
Oh yeah, and to add to my previous post, I have a medium frame.0
-
Just did the wrist test and my fingers touch.... so I must be small framed.0

I'm 5'1" (and change) with a large frame. At my heaviest, I was up to 210 lbs. I'm down to 172 lbs now, which is still a lot for my height -- still obese. I'd like to get down to somewhere between 125-135, then re-evaluate. I've been heavy since I was about 14 (over half my life has been spent obese -- ugh), so I've never really been a healthy weight in my adult body. I have no idea what a healthy weight looks like on me -- but I'm excited to get there!0

I'm 5' 3/4" and aiming for 115 pounds and smale frame.0

I am 5' 3" with a small frame ~ my goal is a VERY toned 120. My body seems to really be trying it's best to stay at 130. The two have compromised right now and I'm at 126. I'm still fighting to lose that last 6 pounds though.0

5 ft 1 and aiming for 125. Would be happy to be 125 and stick to it.0

I'm 5'1 1/2" and my goal is 130. I have a medium-large frame according to the wrist test (my fingers barely touch on one wrist and won't touch on the other)... though petite shirts fit me well across the shoulders and arms so I don't know what to think there!
Anyway... I picked 130 as my goal because it is just a couple pounds below the max healthy weight (by BMI) for my height. Last time I was there was 13 years ago and I was at a healthy weight but NOT in good shape, so to get to a healthy and fit 130 seems like an impossible goal right now! Once I get there I'll see if I want to lose some more... but I am thinking right now that I will be happy with that.0 -
I'm 5'. My begining weight was 130. My goal weight is 110. I did the wrist test and I have a small frame.0
-
I'm 5'2 1/8" (the nurse that measured me said us "short ladies" need all the height we could get. *smack*
I'm aiming for about 130...I'll know more when I get around that weight.
With the wrist test, I'm not so sure I agree with that because after losing 35 lbs, I've had to go to the next notch on my watch. I've had to stop wearing my wedding ring, too out of fear of it falling off! We do lose weight in those areas, too. Just something to keep in mind. I think as you near those lower numbers, then do the wrist test and see...just my opinion.0 -
I'm 5'3" and medium framed. I'm shooting for anything below 140 at this point, which is the high end of the healthy BMI range. I've been overweight my whole life so I have no idea what a good weight for me is really. Once I'm at 140, I can assess if it's maintainable to go below that and how I like how my body looks. For now, I just want to be healthy. I'm just about half way there. I'm also going to my doctor's in August and I plan to ask what she thinks a reasonable weight for me would be.0

I completely agree with you here. Last time I lost weight I had to tighten my watch strap as well... and my wedding ring is finally a little tight (my fingers must be the absolute last place I gain weight because I am 100 pounds more than when I got married!). I'll definitely be doing the test later on... but for now aiming for 130 is quite a huge enough goal for me! At my smallest (I guess) I was right under 110... but that was 15 years and a child ago.0 -
according to the wrist test, I'm a small frame...who knew?? not me!
5'2" - 5'3" on a good day - 5'8" in my dreams
goal weight of 110-115.
Currently 126.5
June goal : 1250 -
I am 5'0ft and would like to be between 115-120 and I am smalled frame. I got down to 118 last October and thought I looked pretty good but its a struggle trying to get there again currently 124lbs.0

I'm 4'11" and very large framed. With the wrist test, I have at least an inch space between my fingers before they will touch. I have my goal weight set at 140lbs. I am a competitive swimmer, so I a lot of muscle mass and I am well endowed up top (which is quite frustrating). I feel that most of my weight is carried on my chest and around my middle. I really don't want to go below 140lbs, but at this weight according to the BMI charts, etc. I would still be considered overweight. The charts say I should be 95-105lbs! There is just no way! I did get down to 120lbs when I was 21 and I looked TERRIBLE. I was gaunt, pale, and my bones stuck out everywhere. Personally, I hate, hate, hate the charts as each person's body is different and only we can know what is a good weight for each of us.0

5' 3.5" and currently 121.4. My goal weight is 120 (I'd love to be less though). Once I hit 120, I'm putting the scale away and focusing on getting more toned!0
-
I am 5'2" with a medium frame. My long-term goal at this point is 125, but when I get to the low 130's I plan to re-assess. Once I get to that point, my focus will be much more on toning, getting my body fat % to around 20-21, and reaching a high level of fitness--so the number on the scale won't matter as much to me. That's what I like to think, anyway.
I remember one time in high school when I got home from a week at summer camp, and weighed 119.5. That was a magical day! But, if I never get there again, at least I know I'll be way stronger and more fit than I ever thought I could be!0
