Runner Woes

Sigh, I have been at this for 6 months and 86 pounds lost (mind you I only decided 3 months ago that I wanted to pursue my dream of being a runner--inspired by the commercial they created in the movie What Women Want--seriously that was an amazing fake commercial and it got me inspired a long time ago) and still I can only run a solid two minutes. Distance only about .13. And then I am out of breath and need about a three minute rest before trying again. I know I'll get there but I really would just be happy with a half a mile right now. Like ecstatically happy. Anyways, tips, inspiration, similar woes? Anyone....

Seriously. You're probably going much too quickly. What is your pace?
Congrats on the weight loss by the way.

    Thanks!

Right now a pace that I can hold for two minutes is 4.5/4.6 on the treadmill.

I was reading a blog right now and had come to that very conclusion. It was talking about the long slow run and getting your body adjusted to that before picking up speed. That will be hard. I know patience is a virtue o:)

I guess I'll have to try that.

Maybe that will help with the automatic tightness after a minute and a half? I hope so!
