Finding it difficult to get correct calorie counts for some food

for instance I'll put 6oz salmon and there may be 100 different salmon so I look for generic and again some say 200 calories up to 700?

for raw meats and veggies, I usually look for the "usda" entry. I find they're more consistent and have often been verified.0

Be very, very specifc.
Instead of salmon, try 'raw salmon with/no skin USDA gram'. Or 'steamed salmon no skin gram'
Or 'steamed broccoli gram'
the more specific you are, the more the results are narrowed down.
