Accountability partner

Do you think having an accountability partner is helpful? And do you prefer your partner to have similar weight loss goals as you or in the same stage of weight loss?

I can only speak for myself, am I will say that I'm a "I work alone" type of person, so, no. I don't think having an accountability partner is helpful. First, I would bristle at anyone who looked at everything I ate and asked, "Do you REALLY need that cookie?" Even if they were right (that I DIDN'T need the cookie) and even if their intentions were the best, I would probably want them to shut the eff up and go away.
But I think that the biggest reason is that the people I know who have been most successful have been accountable to themselves. If you don't have that, it doesn't matter how many people you have looking over your shoulder.0
