Exercise and insomnia

Hi everyone,

Recently I've been trying to get up early to hit the gym at 5am, work out for 30-40min before I have to leave to get ready for work. This is mostly due to the fact my husband gets up at 4:30, and I'm such a light sleeper, instead of being in a weird not-asleep-not-awake state for 1.5hrs until it's time for me to wake up, I thought I'd try a change.

For the past two weeks, it's been significantly harder. My insomnia is kicking in again, which means I'll sleep for 2-3hrs at a time, be awake for 1-2hrs, sleep again, and wake again. So even if I force myself to wake up early, it's still even less sleep than I'd get if I just stayed in bed. I feel like this is worse than sleeping for 5 straight hours and getting up early.

I'm gonna try to go tonight after work, which isn't ideal for me, but I'm feeling really guilty about not going this morning.

Does anyone else have this type of sleep issue? What do you do to help it?
