Do you log the supplements (multi-vitamins, fish oil, etc.) you take? If so, how do you do it.
I'm wondering if it's necessary and if will mask the amount of nutrients I'm getting from food. I log protein powder and bars, but not vitamins. I appreciate any input.

Thanks.

Yes. Use the mobile app and scan the bar code.

If it comes in a capsule, I don't log it. For those things, I know what I take and how often so I get nothing out of logging them.
Shakes, bars and things like that, I definitely log because they're food.

I log my supplement as a reminder to take it.

Some supplements actually have a few calories. I'll usually log those. But I'm with CooCoo, I will log to help me remember to take it.

Nah, I stop at Fish Oil and Vitamins. I'll log a teaspoon or two of creamer but one capsule of fish oil isn't gonna make a difference. This'll just add more aggravation and worries for me.

I dont log my MV or fish oil, protein and other supplements i log :)
  • I will go my vitamins and supplements that they have been record. This way I can make sure that I'm hitting all my nutrient parameters. I take my meds at night so I know before then how I'm doing throughout the day. As my health becomes better, and I get more of my nutrients from my foods i'll be able to see which supplements I can cut back on. Plus is someone said earlier some of the supplements like fish oil do you have any calories.

Nope! I don't log vitamins or supplements, only the protein drink that I drink after strength training.
IMOP it would be too OCD to do that, and not something that can be sustained for a long time. I don't care if they add calories, they are not that many and since I don't eat all my exercises calories (sometimes none of them) everything evens out. I have been in maintenance for over 5 years, so it is working, for me.

I mean...I'm taking a vitamin or a supplement because I'm not getting enough of something, so of course. I want to see accurate reports. Plus fish oil has calories.

I only log my Vitamin C because it has calories and sugar.

I don't log my vitamins. I take a hand-full a day & I always pick the ones that don't have calories instead of the ones that do. I was shocked when I was researching to find out that the bariatric calcium chews have 20 calories each. You have to eat 6-8 of them to get the recommended supplementation for a WLS patient. That's 120-160 calories a day!

    Thanks.

I log my multivitamin because there are a couple of micronutrients I watch and want a fuller picture of my totals. The D and MSM does not get logged because any calories, carbs, etc are so few that it doesn't matter.

If it's got calories in it I track it.

I'm running a thin deficit - 150-200 cals, so I need to log everything, including supplements.

I take vitamins and a probiotic. I only log the vitamin since it has calories.
