What year? This year? You just signed up for your first 5k too according to your profile and I hope you aren't planning an ultra in the next six months after a first 5K?

I don't want to piss on dreams but that path leads to injury.
Or perhaps your profile data is from last year?

Good luck on your goals! Train smart.

Wow! Make sure you strengthen your upper legs so you aren't pounding the hell out of your knees.

    What are you talking about??
    This year...
    I've run
    5k (couple...ya know like 2-3 a week)
10k (once a week or so)
8-10 mile just for fun (once a week)
    Raced
    5/10/half

    This year I have
    Half (3/27)
    Full (5/15)
    Ultra (9/3)

Not piss on your high horse but as much as I'm like wtf did I just commit to I'm not only confident that I'll finish, I'm also confident I'll PR and it's only 33 miles.

The reason he asked was he's an experienced runner and he was trying to be helpful. Your profile said you had just signed up for your first 5K and your post had NO info on past races, etc, but way to insult him. A lot of people jump the gun and end up hurting themselves because of too aggressive goals.

Which I just went in and changed...my profile was 4 years old and hadn't been updated. No insults intended and I'm CERTAIN if he is an experienced runner he understands the defensiveness. Just waking up and deciding to run an ultra is not the brightest idea...

But as the OP states these aren't my first races *cough* second half *cough*

I'm impressed and just a tiny bit jealous. That is just 100% awesome.

I'm so excited!! Considering my training this week has been a high vibe, happy place and I've PR'd every run I'm over the moon. A little worried about the long runs (20+ miles) during the 100+ degree summer but...who needs to sleep? Night time is for running too, right?

Good luck! Don't take a 2 year break from running like I did! It doesn't work out well! :'(

I already did lol, what happened? I've been able to jump back in pretty seamlessly but I'm doing my first 8 mile run in about a year Saturday
