Can't breath

Sometimes when I exercise I feel like I can't get a full breath like I need/want to they just end up being shallow breaths and I'm left with a feeling of needing to fill my lungs all the way but can't.

I felt like that the first couple months I began exercising. Sometimes I would lay in bed trying to do deep breathing exercises that I would later try to use during exercise. After a while, things got MUCH better, because my lungs are in better shape now. All I can tell you is if you've been cleared by your doctor already, then this is probably just your lungs adjusting. Especially if you pratice an endurance sport like me (running, biking, etc...)

yup that's exercise - oxygen depletion because of exertion

it's all about feeding your muscles which need energy, you’ll start to breathe faster to compensate for your lack of oxygen. Also, your heart beats faster so it can pump more oxygen-rich blood, and the blood vessels in your muscles expand to handle the increased blood flow. If you're not fit your cardiovascular system isn't able to get and deliver the required oxygen so you get tired more easily

you'll get better as you get fitter

if it's too much stop, slow down, move slowly and start to breathe deeply

When I started to exercise, especially outdoors I got very very tight chest. Turns out I had mild ashma triggered by cold air! I now have to use an inhaler only if I run outside as my fitness improved my chest got far better
