Funny thing...

I've been doing well. I'm 135 days into my diet. I've lost 68 pounds and am very happy with my progress so far. I even lost 10 pounds over 3 weeks during Christmas/New Years. I realize I have little to complain about. One thing that I have been most happy with is that I've had success and I haven't been perfect with my diet. I eat pretty well but I'll still have a few drinks on the weekend....mostly whiskey/diets.
This sounds kind of bad but I had drinks at least one weekend night every weekend since Christmas for various reasons(Birthdays, NFL playoffs etc), but I had still done pretty well on the weight loss. I made a conscious decision this past weekend to really buckle down on the diet and drink no alcohol. Ironically, this has been the worst ten day stretch since I've started. I actually have gained two pounds back.
I'm not complaining, I know this stuff happens. Just thought it was kinda funny.

Your body is mad at you for not supplying alcohol!0

This may be controversial, but I tried to cut out alcohol in the beginning because I thought I had to. I inevitably added it back in, and my weight loss actually sped up.
I religiously log all of my alcohol calories and try to make them fit into my goal, but I do end up going over quite often. But when I go over my calorie limit due to alcohol, I still lose weight consistently, whereas when I go over just from food, my weight loss stalls. This makes me wonder if my body isn't using/processing the alcohol calories differently than food calories. I have absolutely no science to back this up, but it certainly seems true for me.0
