I just checked the Which Wich website and it says a caprese medium (10.5in) is only 360 calories. Now....I'm looking at this sandwich thinking.....no way! It has to be at least 600 calories. Anywhooo I ate a little over half , but dont know what to log. Thoughts? ?

The calories on the website will be as accurate as the employee making the sandwich. If you think they put more on the sandwich and the calorie count is higher, trust your judgment.

The sandwich doesn't look overly big now that I'm looking at it again. It's more long/thin than huge. I'm just surprised a medium is so few calories!

If it doesn't have mayo and cheese and all that, I can see it being <400 calories.

It's just bread, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and pesto sauce

What I meant was that the calorie counts are based on the employees using a specific amount of cheese, tomatoes, and pesto. If you have an employee who uses more, the calories will be more. So if it does look like more calories to you, there is a real possibility that it could be more. If it doubt, you could use the database to look up your best guess of the components of the sandwich and see if it is close. You should also be able to find the calorie count for the pesto on their website (I've used it before) and see if it matches.

Just looked at their NI, as I suspected, the calorie count for the sandwich doesn't include the bread. Medium wheat is 400 calories, medium white is 430. I hate that trick, but a local chain here does it, so I've come to suspect it.

Wow -- great catch! I forgot that when I built the entry for my regular order there, I did have to add the bread.

Glad to help. Like I said, we have a local chain that does this, and I got caught once with it. It can really screw up your calorie count for the day if you don't notice the disclaimer in teeny tiny type somewhere on the website.

Thank you! I just knew it wasn't right!
