I heard chocolate milk is good for a post workout drink? Is that true? It contains a lot of sugar....

Yes. No. Maybe? Chocolate milk tastes good but there's no need to have it after a workout. And unless you have a medical condition the sugar should not really matter.

Post workout sugar is not the problem. Dairy is. Try Silk Chocolate Almond milk instead. Post workout ONLY!

I'm old and I used to do this. I mixed skim milk with a tsp of hersheys syrup. After workouts for the protein and to quell my hunger. Old, old thing to do.

If you want a recovery drink it works well enough and tastes great.

,i made my choc with 4tbsp of Anlene milk and 1tbsp of van houten cocoa powder (i dont like skim milk)...no additional sugar involved because its already creamy as it is.. Blend it with banana and i get a choc banana milkshake..yummy..
Its way cheaper for me than buying ready made milk chocolate here..

Personally, if im feeling really famish after an intense workout, drinking milk chocolate does makes me feel a lot better before i get to eat my breakfast (i workout in the morning)..but that just me..pretty sure i got the same effect when i eat a banana instead..

I dont think the sugar really matter, unless you are intending to drink gallons of it, which i think you won't/ u have any medical issue.. :)

An insulin spike after a workout can be a good thing to absorb the nutrients you are consuming which is where this idea basically comes from but it is not necessary.

Great marketing. They even hand out free chocolate mild at marathons.

It's just milk with added sugar and chocolate. There's nothing special about it. As long as you don't mind the sugars it won't hurt and will provide some protein.
