1500 calories a day...ok to save most for dinner?

My weakest time of day is when I am with my wife on the couch playing xbox at night after work. I love to snack. So what I have been doing with my 1500 calories is eating a light breakfast and lunch and then I typically have 900-1000 calories for the night time. Is this ok? I don't want to fill my body with food at 6pm and then go to bed at 10 or 11 and make my body have a harder time losing weight since I am saving all my calories for the evening. What should I be doing?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I did this (light breakfast and lunch and bigger dinner) for most of the time when I was losing weight. Many people eat right before bedtime and still lose weight successfully.0

I do this too.0

I did the same thing and lost around 50 lbs so it's definitely doable.0

That's perfectly fine.0

The time you eat your calories doesn't matter for weight loss.0

Ok good. I was also just wondering from a, I guess science standpoint, of how the body processes food. Would it be better to kick start the metabolism with a large breakfast and then a ok lunch and then a light dinner. Wonder how your metabolism works in that regard.0

You don't need to kick start your metabolism. Eat when you want. I eat 2000 calories per day and 1500 of them are often after 4:00.0

Your metabolism is working all the time, even when you're sleeping. It doesn't need kickstarts.0 -

Yup. I eat between 1300-1800 depending on the exercise that day, and i usually save around half my calories for dinner and post dinner snacking.
I can say no to food all day long...but once the kids are in bed? All bets are off. So i plan for it.0 -
That's what I do. Small breakfast and lunch and most of my calories at dinner and maybe an evening snack. So far I have lost 26 pounds. It doesn't matter what time you eat as long as you stay in a deficit. Sometimes people with gerd have trouble if they lay down too soon after eating, but if you don't have that issue then there is no reason to not eat as late as you want to.0
