If been underweight most of my life and have never been happy with my figure. Has anyone got any high calorie meal recipes? And will weight training help speed up weight gain? Thanks

Pecan halves. Pecans in the morning. Pecans in the afternoon. Pecans before you eat pecans. And pecans after you eat pecans.
Lmao but seriously though, whole milk products, full fat versions of whatever you eat. if it says diet, you don't want it. Peanut butter. Coconut oil added to stuff. I was recently recommended mixing olive oil into milk. Haven't tried it yet bc I only plan to if I can't meet calories which I thankfully have so far but I thought I'd throw it out there. Tuna with rice or lentils mixed in. Protein shakes.0 -
Nutrament had 360 calories in it and is pretty nutrient dense0

If you are having problems gaining you need to do the same thing as anyone who has trouble losing: start logging all you eat and all your activties. You'll need to figure out how much you are eating now then add 250 to 500 calories to it to start. Then add 100 calories per day each week till you start seeing gains.
We can spam you for days with high calorie recepies but that's really not necessary; once you understand how much you need to eat the rest should fall into place.
As for lifting weights, that won't help you gain faster but will improve your body composition so that you gain more muscle than you would otherwise so you will look better when you arrive at your goal weight. Just remember to account for the weight lifting activities and adjust your intake accordingly.0 -
I am currently eating 2350 calories a day which is alot for me. I didn't really take notice of what I ate before that but I know it wasn't enough. For me I think it's more about patience, I know there's no way on magaically putting it on but it would be handy if I could do it quicker . I was scared of doing excerise because I didn't want to burn off calories I needed, but I want to be able to do this in a healthy way0

I've also looked into protein/meal replacement shakes for extra calories on top of meals and have only found ones that are only 200. Is there much point to shakes to add calories or are homemade better?0

You can add calories with shakes but I'm not a fan of those unless you really need them and I find that if I take them for too long I tend to get sick of them. You can make a great smoothy with ice cream or full fat greek yogurt as a base then add things like peanut butter (or PB2), bananas, mangos, avacodos etc and get some serious calories going.0 -

olive oil in milk sounds gross. Why not just add some hershey's syrup if you need to gain weight. mmm...chocolate milk is delicious and a great post workout! As a life long chubby girl I feel well qualified to tell people how to gain weight. Now, if you want to do it by eating healthy I'm probably not your girl.
Healthy and caloriffic, I'd eat nuts, whole grains, whole fat dairy, avocados, cheese, potatoes, all the good stuff.0 -
I'm going to second the milkshakes/smoothies, and reiterate that once you hit your macros/fiber/vitamins and minerals, eat whatever you need to gain.
There's nothing like a milkshake to pack in those calories!
A 'healthier' smoothie option is whole fat yogurt/coconut milk (the stuff in a can), avodacdo (you can't even taste it), Nut butter or nuts soaked overnight in water (blends easier), ground flax/chia/hemp seeds, banana/papaya/mango for higher calorie fruits.0 -

Olive oil in milk doesn't sound great but I haven't tried it. Note that olive oil does have twice the calories as Hershey's chocolate syrup... so there's that.

I like bulletproof coffee and it's pretty filling (butter and coconut oil). Lots of fat and strangely tasty and creamy0
