I'm curious what your opinions are on supplements? A couple weeks ago I had a few spouts of not going #2 for 3-4 days at a time. I started taking magnesium oxide before bed and have went every morning like clockwork since. I also don't drink dairy and started taking calcium citrate+d3. Even with the supplement I usually never even hit the goal for calcium. I also take 1 d3 standalone pill in the morning. Now I wish I would have bought a more potent version of magnesium but, I work at a grocery store and it was b1g1 so i now have enough to last me an entire year for $10. It seems really hard to get everything you might need while cutting calories and occasionally eating stuff with no nutritional value because of time constraints and just being human. I do have 2lbs of pumkin seeds coming from amazon which apparently are high in magnesium so i'm gonna cut out that for awhile and see what happens. Do you guys take any?

In general, most people do well on a good multi vitamin, a d3 pill (if serum testing shows it's low), and if you're weight training then creatine monohydrate and caffeine are proven supplements. I wouldn't start messing with my electrolytes though. Magnesium is a natural laxative, but if you're not regular, you should find out why, and not mask it by taking magnesium. you're probably just not getting enough fiber and water.
you can also check examine.com to look at the effectiveness and clinical dosages of most supplements, you'll probably notice right away that most supplements do nothing for you.0 -
You'll get all you need from a balanced diet. If you're deficient in something and cannot get it in your diet, supplements can help. But they are generally not needed and are never as good as getting it from your diet.0

I was drinking 4 liters of water per day and eating my reccomeded fiber. The reason I took the magnesium was because I looked up magnesium rich foods and I barely eat any of them. Hence the 2lbs of pumpkin seeds I just bought.0 -
I take a ton of supplements.
Vit C 1000mg, probiotics, women's multi vitamin,
D3 5000mg, vit E, potassium, B-complex, elderberry & zinc, CoQ10, green tea, black cumin seed (nigella sativa), resveratrol, royal jelly, magnesium glicinate, cla, oil of oregano, N-Acetyl Cysteine, curcumin (turmeric), coconut oil, holy basil, feverfew, cinnamon, butterbur, olive leaf, Blü Science Eternal Blü, krill oil, and tart cherry extract.
Plus right now I'm taking garcinia cambogia and green coffee bean extract from a failed diet attempt of the past. Not because I believe they work, but because I bought the darned things so I'm gonna take them until they're gone.
WoW, that's the first time I've ever seen them all listed together. That's a lot. I'm surprised I ever had enough room in my stomach for the food it took to get me so overweight, lol.
