Hi. Is there any way we can track steps without using one of the apps recommend? I've been given a pebble by my gp to track activity. I'm not sure if I can sync it. Thanks x

Tracking steps is best when synced because the tracker compares to your stated activity level. Your tracker shouldn't give you calories for every step; just those steps above sedentary....or whatever your setting is.

Look in the APPS section above to see if your tracker is there. Otherwise look up step counts for various activity levels. Then adjust your activity level in MFP. It will add calories.

Fitbit gives you calories for every step. It also gives you calories for being alive. I'm pretty sure most step trackers that sync to similar websites do the same. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding you though.

If your pebble isn't something listed in the apps section like TeaBea mentioned, you can try just entering your steps as exercise here on MFP. In that I case I would follow TeaBea's advice; if you're set to sedentary, don't count those first 4,000 steps or so, since MFP already assumes you're doing them.
