Sweat Pants

Hope this question doesn't sound TOO dumb, but 'back in the day' when I ran in high school all I remember is just regular old cotton type sweat pants. Now I see there are compression shorts, compression pants and a handful of other choices. All I really want is something I can wear to keep me warm on cooler or colder days being in Chicago....any advice or guidance would be appreciated!!

Target CG sweat pants. Cheap and good.

For running in cooler weather I've resorted to using running tights (they make cold weather versions) mostly because I don't like having loose sweats flapping around while I run but the good old cotton ones are available at most department stores and / or practically every sporting goods store and they're a lot less expensive than running tights.

You may also want to look at a nylon or polyester track pant for winter running - more effective at blocking the wind than cotton. (and readily available everywhere)

Ditto on the running tights. They keep you warmer because they taper around your ankle which keeps the cold air out. I live in WNY and run outside in 10 degree weather. I love either Nike or Under Armor running tights. Under Armor will use the term "heat gear" to signify it is supposed to keep you warm. Both are usually wicking material too so you don't get sweaty. Nike usually has some good ones in their clearance section of their website which can save you some $$.
