When you click Complete this Entry at the end of the day, there's an anticipated weight loss prediction... How accurate is that?

it's an overly simplistic equation...not every day is like today...you're not going to have exactly the same calories coming in every day...and you're certainly not going to have the same going out.

personally, i think it's about the most stupid thing on this app.

It's not an accurate prediction of what will happen because of course every day *won't* be like today. So you shouldn't count it as given if it shows you much greater or less weight loss than you would expect based on a single day.

But I like that it helps to put daily behaviors in long term perspective, something most humans aren't very good at doing intuitively. Seeing how small changes to my diet and exercise would play out over time if they became habits helps reinforce good choices and check bad ones for me.

It shows the power 100 calories has, 100 high or low you'll gain/lose a pound. As far as a prediction, it's useless.

My suggestion every time I see this thread.

Make the estimate based on previous 7 days, 30 days etc instead of one day.

    We have the technology.

I hate it and wish there was a way to turn that off.

Certainly beneficial for some people as it provides a modicum of progress. A nice motivator for people struggling with their weight.
