I recently took a boxing class that involved a heavy bag.
Two dumb questions:
1. Are you supposed to hit the heavy bag as hard as you can?
2. Is it normal (at least when you are starting out) that your hands will shake after? (Actually having trouble typing)
Was a ton of fun. Just not sure if I'm doing it right.

1. No (unless you are Mike Tyson)
2. See answer to number 1. You hit it too hard.
Boxing is fun for sure. It is a great cardio workout too. I did it briefly. Now I focus more on martial arts.
I do have a 70lb heavy bag in my basement.0 -
Haha. Oops. Thanks.0

Hit a bag at about 70-80 power and wear your boxing gloves. 50-70 power on hand held targets depending on what you are training. 50 on a sparring partner. Is the rule of thumb at my school unless told otherwise.0
