Need a digital kitchen scale

I'm in the market for a digital kitchen scale and wonder if any of you have suggestions. Thanks for any input!

Find one that has a Tare button and uses grams as well as ounces.
I use a German brand Soehnle. It was on sale at William Sonoma outlet for $ 27

I would highly, highly recommend the Eatsmart digital scales. I have their basic kitchen scale ($20 or so on Amazon) but I plan to upgrade to their larger one, which can weigh up to 15lb (sometimes I want to weigh something I make in cast iron without the transferring it to a bowl), and even that one is only about $35. I use mine multiple times a day and the first one lasted several years despite me dropping it with some frequency.

I got a cheap one on amazon...less than $20. Super easy to use, switches between oz and grams and tares easily.

I had a Taylor scale that I got at Target - it started acting really goofy if the batteries were anything other than fully charged and didn't give me any kind of low battery warning. Just wouldn't turn on and stay on.

I haven't had it too long, but I'm very happy with it so far. Hopefully it will serve me well for a long while. I have a variety of Amazon Basics items and I've had very good luck with them.

I have that one, too, and like it fine. Though occasionally I see a pretty glass one at Costco for under $20 I wish I had.

One advantage to a slightly larger scale is if you put say a dinner plate or larger bowl on it, on some of the littler scales you can't see the display under it.

What are you looking to weigh? I found a nice scale that measures a in ounces and is super nice, and it was cheap. You can place a bowl or other container on it and zero it then weigh something or you can just put it directly on the scale.

After reading countless reviews, I decided I wanted:
- stainless steel or tempered glass so I could put a hot pot on it if I wanted.
- unit button on the front (I discovered some have the unit button on the bottom - eek!)
- a little longer time before powering off (some are only 1 minute - this one turns off in 2 minutes)
- flat surface (easy cleanup). I didn't want more nooks and crannies to clean.
- Can weigh up to 11lbs at least. (kinda wish I ordered the 15lb max one someone above mentioned. Oh well - i suppose I could use my bathroom scale for the occasional heavy item)
- I prefer the color of stainless steel in my kitchen.
- great price (this one was ONLY $10!)

Hoping it works out and is accurate

I bought this one at Target. I like that it measures both ounces and grams, it's big so it holds many different containers, and it looks good on my counter (I keep it out).

I do like that mine is tiny and I can toss it in any drawer, though.

Thanks for all the input. I bought an EatSmart scale from Amazon that I am loving. It weighs grams, ounces, pounds (up to 15lbs). It's been an eye-opener weighing my food -- I was grossly underestimating how much I was eating.

How is the accuracy of the scales being recommend? I just recently bought a Mainstays Scale and a Taylor Biggest Loser scale from Walmart and returned both, because of accuracy. First thing I did when I brought them home and weighed not 1 but 2 different nickels on them and they registered at 4g. Then I tried the nickels on a smaller scale that I have (4x4) and the nickels weight 5g everytime. Unfortunately due to the size, that scale is too small to use regularly for food measurements, so I'm trying to find one bigger, that could fit at least a small salad plate (6"-8"). Suggestions?
