I've been given 2,710 net calories a day. Does this seem high to you?

I'm 6'1", 270lbs, nineteen, and male. I read that males and teens get more calories, but this still seems a bit much to me.

No I think this is a good #. I have a male MFP friend and this is close to his.

WOW. It sounds right but it never ceases to amaze me the difference lol. Sincerely, 5'2 and 1260 net calories a day.

When I started at over 400 lbs and 76" my maintenance was over 3000 calories. Having lost a bit and setting my goal at 1.5 pounds per week loss I'm around 2100 net per day now. Maintenance for me would be pretty close to your numbers and I'm taller and heavier, and lots older.

Yup, seems normal, my husband gets around 3000kcal a day, he hasn't got much to lose and he only set it to 0.5lbs loss a week but with his job he falls under the very active category. He steadily loses more than 0.5lbs on that amount.

MFP gives my 1580 cals as a 5ft 10 male and 182lbs and a goal weight of 170. Just goes to show the difference between peoples allowances.

I think it all depends on settings

You look like you run - if you added that to your activity level and reduced your goal loss you probably get a lot more

I'm a 5'8 female in maintenance at sedentary I get around 1750 from MFP allowance ... but I eat 2200-2400 on average and my net works out at around 1900-2000

Now find myself momentarily confused by the maths, let's see

if x= MFP allowance excluding exercise = BMR +NEAT
    and y= exercise

    x+y =2200
    y ~ 300
    x ~ 1900 = net intake

    that works, doesn't it?
